Rod Dedeaux (17-2-1914; 5-1-2006)
Fue el Domingo Balmanya del béisbol americano. Entrenador de de la Universidad de South Carolina, se retiró siendo el hombre con más triunfos en la historia del béisbol universitario (1.332) llegando a ser seleccionador de los Estados Unidos en las Olimpiadas de Tokyo (1964) y Los Ángeles (1.984).
Además fue el encargado de preparar a los actores y jugadores que participaron en "Campos de Sueño"(1989), aquella película donde Kevin Costner decide montar un campo de béisbol en un maizal.
Heinrrich Harrer
El alpinista que escribió y protagonizó "Siete años en el Tibet" murió el pasado 7 de enero a los 94 años. Austríaco de origen, su leyenda se forja al escaparse de un campo de prisioneros en plena II Guerra Mundial y llegar hasta el Tibet donde se gana la confianza del Dalai Lama y convive con él 5 años.
En los últimos años de su vida la revista "Stern" sacó a la luz pública que Harrer había pertenecido al partido nazi y el alpinista decidió retirarse de la vida pública.
Gabor Zavadszky
El internacional húngaro que jugaba en el Apollon de Limassol (Chipre) fue encontrado el 7 de enero muerto en su apartamento por causas desconocidas. El centrocampista de 31 años, que llegó a disputar la Champions League con el Ferencvaros, disfrutaba de su segunda temporada en la liga chipriota.
