Es sorprendente ver que por muchos jugadores que fiche el Madrid, a uno le da la sensación de estar viendo al mismo equipo triste y gris de cada año. Vale que los madridistas aún tienen la esperanza de que Cannavaro y Van Nistelroy no se contagien jamás de ese espíritu (y que el proceso sea el inverso) y de que Reyes siga viviendo en la inconsciencia de no saberse aún madridista, pero ahí se acaba la luz. Lo demás son sombras, miedos y tensiones.
El Madrid de hoy en día es un equipo donde el delantero parece nacido para morir defendiendo y el defensa sólo aspira a atacar, donde el mediapunta invade al mediocentro y el mediocentro se borra en la mediapunta, donde Reyes marca de falta y Beckham culmina contraataques, que vive en esa ansiedad de creer que el partido es corto cuando los partidos se alargan desde la tranquilidad y donde Raúl Bravo, sea por el motivo que sea, siempre acaba jugando. Un lío, un tremendo lío, que acaba por contagiar a socios, seguidores, jugadores y periodistas y que le impide llegar a esa meta que debería ser el punto de partida de todo proyecto.
